System Requirements for XeroLite CE (Cloud Edition)

XeroLite CE (Cloud Edition) is a fully managed cloud service. You don't need to worry about VPS, server setup, or installation – everything is provided and managed for you.

What You Need (User Requirements)​

1. Web Browser​

  • Any modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, or Opera)
  • Internet connection to access your XeroLite CE instance
  • No special software or plugins required

2. Interactive Brokers Account​

You need an Interactive Brokers account, which can be either:

  • Paper Trading Account: For testing and practice without real money
  • Live Account: For actual trading with real funds

3. TradingView Account​

A TradingView account is required to create and send alerts to XeroLite:

  • Free TradingView account (with limitations)
  • Paid TradingView subscription (recommended for advanced features)

4. XeroLite CE Subscription​

  • Active subscription to XeroLite CE (Cloud Edition)
  • Access credentials provided after subscription activation

Interactive Brokers TWS/Gateway in XeroLite CE​

Interactive Brokers Trader Workstation (TWS) or IB Gateway is pre-installed in your XeroLite CE instance. You don't need to download or install it yourself. However, you will need to configure API access settings to allow XeroLite to connect.

TWS vs IB Gateway​

XeroLite CE may use either:

  • TWS (Trader Workstation): Full trading platform with charts and tools
  • IB Gateway: Lightweight API-only connection (recommended for automated trading)

Both work the same way for XeroLite integration. The choice is managed by XeroLite CE.

Important Notes​

  • IB TWS/Gateway is pre-installed in your XeroLite CE instance
  • You'll need to configure API access settings (see Configure IB TWS for API Access)
  • Upgrading beyond v10.33.01 may cause minor issues, especially with major version upgrades
  • XeroLite CE will continue to provide updates to stay compatible
  • The TWS/Gateway version is managed by XeroLite CE; updates are handled automatically

What You Need to Do​

Since TWS/Gateway is pre-installed, you only need to:

  1. Configure API Access – Set up API settings to allow XeroLite to connect
  2. Log In to TWS/Gateway – Access TWS/Gateway through the web interface to log in with your IB credentials
  3. Verify Connection – Ensure XeroLite can connect to TWS/Gateway

Accessing TWS/Gateway in XeroLite CE​

TWS/Gateway in XeroLite CE is accessed through the web interface:

  1. Log in to your XeroLite CE instance via web browser
  2. Access TWS/Gateway – You'll be able to access TWS/Gateway through the web interface
  3. Log in with IB credentials – Enter your Interactive Brokers username and password
  4. Configure API settings – Follow the Configure IB TWS for API Access guide

No Installation Required​

Unlike self-hosted XeroLite, XeroLite CE requires:

  • ❌ No download – TWS/Gateway is already installed
